Basic Cat Care

This may seem like alot of writing but really, it isn't, so if you don't have a cat you don't have to read this.
Cats usually love to be combed or brushed, so if you have trouble something is wrong. Try tossing the brush or comb to the ground and rub some treats on it. Or put the treats next to the brush. (The treats should be outside of the bag)You are not to blame if your cat does not want to take a bath, because people have been known to go to the hospital for stitches while trying to give their cat a bath. Luckily unlike dogs they do not have to put cats down if they hurt humans. Don’t even try to give your cat a bath. Just take a washcloth, get it wet and then groom your cat with it so it is like you are not giving your cat a bath, but you are petting your cat. Trust me, it will be ten times easier to do that than give your cat a bath like you give a dog a bath. Start giving your cats these baths when they are young so they can get used to it easily. But do not worry if your cat is not young it won’t make a huge difference unlike it would with normal baths. When I did this with my cats they began to love getting "baths"!

Brushing your cats teeth is very simple though they don’t like it. It will be simple to figure out! Buy your cat's favorite flavor food or a type of food they like flavored toothpaste. For example my cat Tina likes tuna so i would buy tuna flavored toothpaste. This way your cat will like it better. Then brush your cats teeth very gently.

Feeding your cats is also VERY simple. For kittens feed them 1/3 cup of dry in day and night. For adult cats (cats over 2) feed them 1/2 cup of dry food in the morning, and 1/3 cup of dry food at night. For adult cats and kittens you can feed them as much wet food as you want but try NOT to over feed your cats, it will ruin their beautiful cat like shape, and that never turns out well.

Clipping your cat's nails is definetly the worst because you are right next to your cat's claws and getting scratched really does hurt so don't be afraid to admitr it! Get a small $1-$10 clipper because they work the best and are very inexspensive. When you clip your cat's nails just cut off the tip of the nail which is about 1/4 of a centimeter. Do NOT cut any farther otherwise it will hurt your cat and you will most likely get scratched. If you don't want to go through the troubles go to your local PetSmart or Call your Vet.
